Expanding on their incredible Australia/New Zealand run of shows this year, Metallica and Slipknot have confirmed two final dates together as part of the WorldWired Tour 2019.
The metal titans will be joining forces for eight huge gigs in October and November, with additional nights in Melbourne and Auckland added to the tour. Tickets go on sale April 9 – don't miss out.
By the time October rolls around, Slipknot's as-yet-untitled new record will finally be here (its release date is August 9), so we'll have a bunch of new music to hear live from Iowa's finest.
For headliners Metallica, though, it's unclear when the follow-up to Hardwired… To Self-Destruct will arrive. Excitingly, bassist Rob Trujillo recently told The Music that there wouldn't be as long of a wait for a new LP as there was for 2008's Death Magnetic or 2016's Hardwired…: "We've all vowed to get this one going sooner than later. Now, how soon? I don't know. We've been touring non-stop. It's been over two years now. At some point, sure, we'll need to take a little bit of a break. It's sort of the right thing for us to do because we've been going so hard."
