If there's one thing Tool fans are acutely aware of, it's the lack of Tool on any digital platform. For their entire career, the seminal alt. metallers have shunned the likes of Spotify and Amazon Music – you couldn't even find official high quality audio on YouTube. Crazy, right?
But it looks like the tide is finally turning, one record at a time. Earlier this year, official Tool profiles were added to Apple Music and Spotify without any music, but the band's first-ever release has now been added.
The 1991 demo EP, 72826, has been added to YouTube, Apple Music, Pandora and Google Play Music – which we're guessing (also, really hoping) means Tool's entire catalogue is being added slowly but surely. We could see one new record added each week until their long-awaited fifth album album arrives on August 30. Or, as it's Tool, this is just one big tease and they're going to stick with physical formats only until the end of time.
