As their new album nears completion, Tool announce a run of U.S. headlining dates for this May
Though fans have every right to be skeptical, it does appear, for all intents and purposes, that Tool will release their long-awaited new album this year. The band has done everything to suggest this, from releasing trippy animated teasers to photos from the mastering studio to European tour dates. Now, they've also announced a series of headlining dates in the U.S. for this May.
To flesh out their schedule between festivals like Welcome To Rockville and Chicago Open Air, the band will headline the following American cities:

5 - Jacksonville, FL – Welcome To Rockville
7 - Birmingham, AL – Legacy Arena at The BCC
8 - Louisville, KY – KFC Yum! Center
10 - Hampton, VA – Hampton Coliseum
11 - Concord, NC – Epicenter Festival
13 - St. Louis, MO – Enterprise Center
14 - Kansas City, MO – Spring Center
16 - Lincoln, NE – Pinnacle Bank Arena
17 - Des Moines, IA – Wells Fargo Arena
19 - Bridgeview, IL – Chicago Open Air Festival
Tickets for the dates go on sale this Friday, March 15th, at 10am local time.
This U.S. tour above should shortly precede the album's release, as frontman Maynard James Keenan has announced that the album should be out this summer. Then again, there was some talk of it coming out next month which proved incorrect, so we'll just have to wait and see
