Ahead of the remake’s release on July 11 (for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X, Switch and PC) the first wave of music has dropped – with Tony himself promising on Instagram that this is “Round one (of three)”.

So far, you can hear the likes of Motörhead’s classic Ace Of Spades, Them Bones by Alice In Chains, Turnstile’s Real Thing, Ultimate by Denzel Curry, Kittie’s Charlotte and Run The Jewels’ Yankee And The Brave across the 20-song tracklist.

A couple of years ago, the skating legend told Kerrang! about the importance of music in these games: “The soundtracks are very much in line with my music tastes and my history of growing up skating. Punk music was really closely associated with skating at the time and a lot of the songs on the soundtracks were songs that I heard growing up at skate parks.

“I had more input on the first few games than any of them because there were no expectations, so we had a lot more freedom to be experimental. I was just trying to make a soundtrack that I thought represented skate culture and the skate lifestyle.”
