Serj Tankian sings The Rains Of Castermere and it is incredible
Game Of Thrones is over. And while season 8 has drawn criticism amongst viewers, fantasy fans across the world are mourning the end of an eight-year chapter of their lives. What do we do now? We can't just sit on our hands and wait for the inevitable spin-offs, can we? No, we need to relive the final season in audio form.
The official soundtrack for the eighth season has been released, and amongst its 32 tracks is a supremely powerful performance of The Rains Of Castermere featuring none other than System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian.
The Rains Of Castermere is one of the show's most famous songs, and was covered by The National in the season two soundtrack. Sigur Rós also performed the song at Joffrey and Margaery's wedding in season four. The song details Tywin Lannister's victory over House Reyne of Castamere many decades before the events of the TV show. Isn't that fun, fact fans!
Listen to Serj's seriously impressive take on the song with composer Ramin Djawadi.
