Listen to Harper’s new single: “I really wanted to show I can do more than just scream”

It’s been one hell of a week for Harper. After becoming Download Festival’s youngest-ever performer over the weekend (and absolutely crushing her set), today the 12-year-old has shared a new single: Bird In A Cage.

And it’s a fresh vibe compared to what we’ve heard from the young star in the past – though of course with plenty of those signature screams – with Harper revealing that the track “was written about feeling trapped and alone and being let down by the people who are close to you.

“This song is different to any song I’ve done before and I really wanted to show I can do more than just scream. It’s possibly my favourite song I’ve done to date!”
