Iron Maiden have announced their new touring drummer
Following Nicko McBrain’s retirement from touring, Iron Maiden have revealed that “a name familiar to many of our fans” will be stepping in next year.
Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has confirmed details of a brand-new solo single, Afterglow Of Ragnarok, and announced a load of 2024 tour dates.
After announcing his seventh solo album The Mandrake Project back in September, Bruce Dickinson has just confirmed that we’ll be getting to hear the first solo single from the record in less than a month.
The Iron Maiden frontman will be unveiling new tune Afterglow Of Ragnarok on December 1, and has also revealed that the vinyl edition of the single will come with an If Eternity Should Fail demo on the B-side.
“It was important to set the tone of the project with this track,” explains Bruce. “As befitting its title, it’s a heavy song and there’s a great big riff driving it… but there’s also a real melody in the chorus that displays the light and shade that the rest of the album brings… and just wait until you see the video!”
The metal legend has also just unveiled a ton of new UK and European tour dates, kicking off in Glasgow on May 18 and wrapping up in Istanbul on July 19. He’ll be on the road with his touring band, who are comprised of guitarist Roy Z, drummer Dave Moreno, bassist Tanya O’Callaghan and keyboardist Mistheria.
