Foo Fighters cancel appearance at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival
Jack White and Greta Van Fleet have joined this weekend’s Soundside event in place of Foo Fighters, who have cancelled last-minute.
Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, plus a host of other bands, are playing LA's Heaven Is Rock And Roll gala on Saturday.
It's been over a year since the surviving members of Nirvana reunited onstage at Foo Fighters' Cal Jam ’18 festival in San Bernardino, but Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear are performing together once more at this weekend's annual Heaven Is Rock And Roll gala in Los Angeles.
Also joining the musicians for charity The Art Of Elysium on January 4 at The Hollywood Palladium are Marilyn Manson, Beck, St. Vincent, L7, Cheap Trick and Dave’s daughter, Violet – who has of course joined her dad onstage before, from covering Adele with him to singing My Hero with the Foos when they headlined Leeds Festival last year.
While it's not officially confirmed that actual Nirvana are playing, there is reportedly a rather luxurious $50,000 Nirvana ticket package available for purchase, which also includes, "Prime seating for 10 guests at dinner and performance, name recognition on all printed and electronic materials, and name recognition on The Art of Elysium website." See more on that right here, and stay tuned to Kerrang.com for more news when we have it.

Back in October 2018 when Nirvana reunited at Cal Jam, Dave told Kerrang! that running through the songs brought back bittersweet memories for himself, Krist and Pat, because of the absence of late frontman Kurt Cobain.
“When Pat, Krist and I sat down to go through those songs in a small rehearsal room with concrete walls, it fuckin’ sounded like Nirvana,” he said. “It was like being shot into outer space. Being able to play that drum fill and break into the chorus… it’s spiritual, physical, emotional.
“We would look at each other and smile, but the emotions would kind of go in waves, because there was someone missing – and you wish that you could still share those songs with Kurt,” he continued.
“It was odd, but it felt like a real treat,” added Krist. “I caught myself beaming away during …Teen Spirit. I couldn’t quite believe I was playing it again, and I will cherish that moment for a long time because it was pretty special.”
