System Of A Down add new stadium dates with Korn, A7X and Deftones
System Of A Down’s previously-announced stadium dates with Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones have already sold out, with the band adding second nights in each city.
System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian also appears on the release.
While we're still a little (or perhaps a long) way off hearing new albums from both Avenged Sevenfold and System Of A Down, a collaboration of sorts between the two is coming very soon.
A7X frontman M. Shadows is set to provide his vocals to a track on SOAD drummer John Dolmayan's new project These Grey Men, which is set to be released "within the next four months".
Speaking of the album – of which System's own Serj Tankian also guests – John tells SOADMexico: “There’s some cool artists on it. Serj sang two songs. The Avenged Sevenfold singer – I don’t know if you know Matt, he’s fantastic. Really nice guy, by the way, and he sang a song.”
It's not a great deal to go on, but certainly enough to get us excited nonetheless.
In terms of an actual new Avenged album, Shadows told us back in September that the band would be pushing forward thoughts towards a follow-up to The Stage. “Yeah, I think we will start sooner now," he said. "We really can’t promise anything, because a record won’t come out until we are satisfied with the songs – and with that the time always varies.”
System Of A Down, meanwhile, will be playing two huge festival shows in the U.S. in May. Who knows about new music at this point, though…
