The Darkness have announced details of their upcoming sixth album Easter Is Cancelled
Do you still believe in a thing called love? Well good news, because The Darkness have announced their new album Easter Is Cancelled.
The news came in the form of a call to arms video on Twitter from frontman Justin Hawkins, striding through the parklands with his merry men, decrying the state of the world in 2019.
"As power hungry clowns cast a shadow of despair across this land, our people cower in tumble-down hovels. The birds do not sing and the children do not dance. Hope is crushed," says Justin.
He goes on to ask where the heroes of the world are nowadays, before putting forth his minstrels for the task.
"We are men in tight costumes and we are ready to fight with every weapon that the forefathers have bequeathed: The guitar axe, the drum hammer, the bejewelled codpiece, the banshee wail of righteous anger...
"Cometh the time, cometh the band, we are The Darkness!"
The tweet also gives a formidable message, saying: "Put away your chocolate eggs, say goodbye to the festive bunny & prepare for sonic apocalypse!"
The band's upcoming sixth album Easter Is Cancelled will be released on October 4 and is available to pre-order now.
