Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross make two shortlists for 2025 Oscars
The 97th Academy Awards shortlists have been revealed, with Nine Inch Nails up for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
Remember when St. Vincent and Dave Grohl covered Nine Inch Nails’ Piggy back in 2020? It’s now available everywhere digitally – so get it in your ears immediately.
A couple of years ago, St. Vincent celebrated Nine Inch Nails’ Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction in the best way: by covering Piggy.
But that’s not all – the star recruited Dave Grohl on the drums for the badass rendition, which was unveiled as an Amazon Original in 2020. “To celebrate Nine Inch Nails’ induction to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this week, I’ve recorded my own Amazon Original version of Piggy with Dave Grohl (!!!) on the drums,” she said at the time. “This remains one of my favourite Nails songs to this day.”
And finally, as of today (July 22), the cover is available digitally everywhere, ahead of St. Vincent’s upcoming weeklong live residency on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert from July 25 – 28.
