The Prodigy, Frank Turner, Skindred and more for Kendal Calling 2025
Next year’s 20th anniversary edition of Kendal Calling will be headlined by The Prodigy alongside Courteeners, Fatboy Slim and Kaiser Chiefs…
Get ready: Skindred’s new album Smile is the “ultimate ragga-rocking, dancehall-shaking, dutty-winding, head-banging, horn-waving creation” according to Benji Webbe.
Huge Skindred news! The band have confirmed that their eighth album Smile is arriving next summer.
“It’s the ultimate ragga-rocking, dancehall-shaking, dutty-winding, head-banging, horn-waving creation…” teases frontman Benji Webbe of the LP. “Yes party people the ’Dreds dem back!”
To coincide with the news, the band have dropped brilliantly fun lead single GIMME THAT BOOM, which came from a frustrating experience of modern-day life for Benji.
“I was out shopping one day and I could hear someone building up asking me for a picture,” he shares. “The person didn’t care who I was with or what I was doing – they just wanted their picture. In this day and age, people want you and they expect to get you on tap, constantly giving you that ‘boom’ so they can get their Instagram Likes up. It’s important to remember that people can't give you that ‘boom’ all the time. People think because they follow you on social media, they own you.”

Smile is due out in 2023 via Earache Records.
