Alex Gaskarth on new Simple Creatures: "At some point I think there will be something coming your way"
All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth reveals what's currently going on with his band with blink-182's Mark Hoppus, Simple Creatures.
Simple Creatures have announced details of their first-ever UK show
Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus' new project Simple Creatures have announced their first-ever show in the UK.
The show takes place at The Hangar in London on April 3; it will be Simple Creature's fifth show following the release of their debut EP Strange Love on March 29.
“Cooked up in studios and basements around Los Angeles, we set out to push ourselves in musical directions that are new and exciting to us,” said Mark of the EP. “Embracing new recording techniques and processes, we broke songs down to their barest bones and rebuilt them into musical Frankenstein monsters.
"From uptempo tracks like Drug, to the ratty snarl of Lucy, we’ve broken out of our own musical molds and built a world of trashy guitars, distorted synths, crushing programmed drums, and a whole lot of fun and noise.”
“The approach to writing was, ‘whatever makes us feel like we’re way outside of our comfort zone.’" added Alex. "We weren’t afraid to push each other and strive to get stranger.”
The tracks Strange Love and Drug are available now if you pre-order the EP from iTunes.
