Hayley Williams' new project, Petals For Armor, is arriving very soon…
Following Hayley Williams' announcement that we'd hear new solo material from the Paramore vocalist this month, we now have a release date and a name for the project!
The singer tweeted a short, cryptic teaser video alongside a link to petalsforarmor.com, with the clip first showing the moon through some spooky-looking trees, before the footage cuts to the camera going through a dark forest, and then – most importantly of all – a date: January 22, 2020.

On top of that, fans have also spotted Petals For Armor posters around New York, pointing to one hell of a launch in just a couple of weeks' time. Exciting stuff.
Interestingly, the same video has also appeared on Petals For Armor's YouTube account with the title: rage is a quiet thing.
There's also another clip titled and all the lonely., which is set to premiere tonight.
Hayley is yet to reveal what Petals For Armor will sound like, initially announcing the project by simply writing: “I’m putting out some new music [in 2020]. With the help of some of my closest friends, I made something I’m going to call my own. It’s a really special project and you’ll get a taste of it in January.”
It's especially hard to predict the direction of PFA given how many varied projects Hayley has lent her vocals to, but she did answer a question back in August about the state of rock music and if it’s “still alive” by saying: “Is it dead or alive? I don’t think it dies because I’m not really sure that rock’n’roll – or even punk rock, for that matter, which I’m a huge fan of – I don’t think it can be reduced to a phase or a genre of music. I really think it’s something very much like fashion and culture. It lives in people."
In the same interview, Hayley added: “My first creative outlet was music, and even though people are going to see me in this kind of space with Brian [O’Connor, hair artist] a lot more, I don’t want people to forget. I was like, ‘I’m just going to leave this here and see you guys on the flip side.’ I really don’t know what’s next for Paramore, but the guys and I just had dinner the other night at my house. I think we’re just really enjoying being friends and adult human beings at home by ourselves without music."
