With her Petals For Armor and Flowers For Vases / Descansos solo records unable to get the live treatment due to the pandemic, Hayley Williams wants to rectify that in 2025.
Hayley Williams has revealed that she plans to play solo gigs in 2025.
Having released two albums – Petals For Armor (2020) and Flowers For Vases / Descansos (2021) – during the pandemic, the Paramore singer was obviously unable to play this material live at the time, with a planned UK, Europe and America tour in 2020 sadly cancelled.
But now, she clearly wants to rectify that, announcing via her Instagram Stories on December 27 (her 36th birthday) that she is “going to try and finally play some shows next year that would’ve happened nearly 5 years ago now”. Hayley added – just in case – “That is, if the world doesn’t fucking stop before then. Here’s hoping.”
She may also be busy with Paramore, too, having told Dork last October that she thinks “the creativity is about to get cranked up” in the band.
“Not having any deadlines used to be scary, but I’ve realised that since we first started, the music industry has never been the same for more than a year, and neither have we,” she said. “So now we just get to do what we’ve always done without worrying about fitting into the bottom line of some conglomerate.”
When asked about new material in particular, Hayley said that they’d come up with some demos before their stint on The Eras Tour that “really surprised” her, and then while out on the road they worked on a musical idea that “felt like it was on the other side of the tracks to what we’d been working on at home”.
Either way, then, 2025 seems like it’s going to be another very exciting year to be a Paramore and Hayley fan…
