Fresh from working with Luca Guadagnino on Queer, and ahead of next October’s TRON: Ares movie, Nine Inch Nails have announced yet more soundtrack work.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have just revealed that they’re heading into the world of videogames, joining forces with Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog (Crash Bandicoot, Jak And Daxter, Uncharted, The Last Of Us) to score Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet – an adventure that’s been in the works since 2020.

“Our incredible voyage into the cosmos also needs an equally incredible soundtrack,” announces Neil. “As tremendous fans of their work, I’m excited to announce our collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who’ll be scoring Intergalactic! The guys are cooking, and the trailer is just a small tease of their work for the game.”

Check out the announcement from the band below:

A description for the forthcoming PlayStation 5 game teases: “Set thousands of years in the future, Intergalactic puts players into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.”
