The 97th Academy Awards shortlists have been revealed, with Nine Inch Nails up for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
We're going to learn more about Halsey's fourth album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power – produced by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross – on July 7…
After sending the internet into meltdown last week by announcing fourth album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, Halsey has confirmed that more info regarding the Nine Inch Nails-produced LP is coming soon.
A new countdown on the New Jersey pop star's website is pointing to the very specific time and date of 5:08pm BST on July 7, with this moment seemingly being the announcement of the album's release date and cover art. Hopefully more details will come along with that as well – like perhaps a tracklist, or even more information on Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' intriguing work on the record.

If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power is being billed as Halsey's "punk rock" album, though they have been prevalent in the scene for a number of years anyway. The artist has previously worked with Machine Gun Kelly (Forget Me Too), Bring Me The Horizon (Experiment On Me, ¿), and Travis Barker and YUNGBLUD (11 Minutes).
And in November last year, Halsey admitted that a heavier album could be on the cards in the future.
"I do really want to, but it needs to come naturally," they said. "I’ve never sat down before and been like, 'Okay, I want to make this type of album.’ The album kind of makes itself. When that time comes, it’ll happen on its own. I definitely need to do it eventually, though, because I’m starting to age out of being angsty and punk.”
Trent and Atticus have also likely been working on new NIN material recently, too.
After picking up Best Original Score Oscar for Disney and Pixar movie Soul in April, the frontman teased, "We are planning on working on Nine Inch Nails material as soon as… probably tomorrow."
Lots of NIN goodness is on the way, then!
