Rob Halford – aka The Metal God – is branching out into blues music…
Having already expressed an interest in writing and recording a blues album in the past, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford has now confirmed that work has "already begun" on it.
The Metal God announced on The Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz that he's working on the release with his brother Nigel and nephew Alex, as well as pals that he worked with on his 2019 Christmas album, Celestial.
"We had such a great time, and they're so talented," he enthused of that project. "And that blues thing has never left me; it's just part of rock'n'roll."

Rob added of the progress of this blues record: "We're slowly putting bits and pieces together. There's no timeline on it. We're kicking the tires, and I've already got some bits of ideas here and there, and they sound great."
News of the frontman's latest endeavour follows his comments last year that Judas Priest will "definitely" have another album on the way.
"Judas Priest is on a roll and we’re on fire with this music," he said while they were touring 2018's Firepower. "The reaction, the support from our fans, and everybody is what gives you that thought of, 'What would happen if we did another song, then another song and then an album? We might as well go out and tour again.'"
