While Trent Reznor teased
in April 2021 that Nine Inch Nails would be getting straight to work on new
music after their Oscars win, we’ve not been lucky enough to hear any of that
just yet. But excitingly the band’s production duties are still going strong,
with NIN – completed by Atticus Ross – helping out on Fever Ray’s new album
Radical Romantics.
The duo co-produced the songs Even It Out and North on the latest
record from the Swedish electropop artist (real name Karin Dreijer). They also
make a brief cameo appearance in the video for the former song, which you can
check out below. Upon release, Fever Ray thanked Trent and Atticus,
plus Nidia, Seb Gainsborough, Aasthma, and Olof Dreijer “for brilliant and fun
collaboration on the tracks”.
Their work on Radical Romantics follows more excellent soundtracks from NIN – most recently
2022’s Bones And All – as well as the massive success of producing Halsey’s
incredible 2021 album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.
