Norwegian fest Tons Of Rock have announced the first raft of bands for next year’s shindig. As well as bringing Green Day and Norwegian black metal legends Emperor together on a bill at last, the Oslo fest have also bagged Electric Callboy, Lorna Shore, Jinjer, The Good, The Bad & The Zugly, Kim Dracula and more.

“We are extremely proud to announce such a wild and massive first wave of bands for Tons Of Rock 2025,” says booking manager Jarle Kvåle. “Green Day is a dream booking that have been on the top of the wish list from our audience for many years.

“Seeing next year’s line-up also take shape with incredible acts such as Powerwolf and Lorna Shore, exclusive concerts featuring national treasures like Emperor and Norway’s best and most vital band, The Good, The Bad & The Zugly, along with modern sensations like Electric Callboy and Kim Dracula, is just incredible.”

Indeed it is. And some are already noting that the dates for Tons Of Rock (25 – 28 June, 2025) are very close to those of Download. The band will already be in Europe doing Germany’s Southside and Hurricane festivals. These sleuths are also reading a recent tweet from Download as a possible clue, too. Alternatively, Green Day could go for Glastonbury, which takes place from June 25 – 29, because it’s not impossible for them to hop between Worthy Farm and Oslo…
