Code Orange are planning something rather different for their next livestream event
Code Orange have announced details of an upcoming livestream event on Twitch.
Following on the from their incredible empty venue release show for their album Underneath (aka Last Ones Left: In Fear Of The End), the Pittsburgh bruisers will be streaming a new set on July 30 under the moniker Under The Skin.
According to a press statement, the livestream "will see Code Orange delivering a full band, stripped down and re-imagined presentation of tracks spanning their entire catalogue.
"Conceptually akin to classic MTV Unplugged performances, but with nightmarish digital twists and turns."
Well you can count us as excited.
The event will be broadcast live from Theatre Factory in their hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Exclusive merch and a limited-edition Underneath vinyl will also be available during the stream.
Speaking to Kerrang! earlier this year about their new album Underneath, vocalist Jami Morgan argued that despite its heaviness, it could also be accessible.
“I believe that this record could open the door for a lot of people. We targeted that," said Jami. "Maybe not thinking specifically in terms of a ‘gateway record’ but asking, ‘What if a band made their most layered, complicated album while keeping it hard and catchy as hell?’ That’s incredibly hard to achieve, but if it’s not your goal, what’s the point? We wrote something interestingly obscure but with repeat value. It’s a rollercoaster ride, not a long tour. Hopefully it leads somewhere great.”
