It’s been almost a week since Bring Me The Horizon absolutely nailed their Download Festival headline debut, and the band have posted an explosive highlight video from the show.
Featuring cameos from Nova Twins and Evanescence’s Amy Lee, as well as a glimpse at their rehearsals and an early phase of the NeX GEn church stage set-up, it’s a killer glimpse at what went down at Donington Park last Friday night… and we’re now desperate for a live DVD of the whole thing.
After Download, frontman Oli Sykes took to Instagram to share his detailed thought process about putting the show together, thanking everyone who brought this “crazy team effort” to life.
“I’m never fully satisfied with my art but this show was the closest I may ever get to being content,” he wrote. “& that’s because of the team that helped bring all these ideas to life. I’ve honestly written a bible which me & @alfred.pietroni have turned into a full dystopian sci fi opera that i want to share with u but don’t know how, I never thought from the conception of eve we would turn into this narrative that represents so much of how I feel about the world. @lyxwave fully brought the genxsis church set to life as well so much more. @anthr0morph for bringing the vision of eves faceless mutants to the stage @circusxhead for bringing the AI nightmare commercial to life n going to some very uncomfortable places lol. @goonzibfw I’m sorry we most likely broke ur Brain. There’s so many ppl to thank this has been a crazy team effort. If I forget u lmk”
In the same social media post, Oli added of Bring Me The Horizon’s recently-announced new album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn – which is due out on September 15 via Sony/RCA – that it’s “deep af n I although so much of it Is up in the air (even the artwork u see isn’t finished my muse @alissic & I will finish it this week) I can promise u it’s going to be an un-compromised wild piece of art.”
