Evanescence announce new single, Afterlife, for Netflix’s Devil May Cry
Listen to a teaser snippet of Evanescence’s new single Afterlife, which is dropping later this week!
Evanescence’s Amy Lee has revealed that the band are working on “a lot of songs right now for the new album”.
Exciting news! As well as having their Devil May Cry single Afterlife to look forward to later this week, Amy Lee has confirmed that this won’t be all we hear from Evanescence.
The singer previously revealed that the band were getting in the studio last November to start putting stuff together for a new album – the follow-up to 2021’s 4/5-rated The Bitter Truth – and now, in an interview with Audacy Music, Amy says Afterlife is just “the first of many” new songs.
Via Blabbermouth, Amy reveals that Evanescence are “very excited to have new music. This is the first of many. We are working on a lot of songs right now for the new album, but this came up through Netflix, and we were just really excited to have an excuse to get in there right away.”
She also adds that, “I don’t have a date for you [in terms of a release]. We are just working. We got off the road in November or something, and we’ve been creative.” Being on tour was also seemingly a pretty creative time for the band, though, with Amy revealing that they worked on a song in Italy, and had some “fun and productive” experiences at Airbnbs around the world.
