Avenged Sevenfold will be treating their Deathbats Club fans to an intimate 25th anniversary show in a couple of months’ time…
Avenged Sevenfold have just announced an incredibly cool 25th anniversary hometown show.
The Huntington Beach kings will be heading over to Santa Ana to perform at the 1,200-capacity Observatory for members of their Deathbats Club fan community in Friday, October 25.
And not only is it a chance to see A7X up-close and personal – unlike the huge gigs the band played in Europe over the summer, including headlining Download Festival for the third time – it’s going to have a unique setlist, as they’ve announced that they’ll be focusing just on 2003 second album Waking The Fallen and 2005 follow-up City Of Evil.
“$25 for 25 years,” Avenged say. “Deathbats Club presents Death By Stereo with special guests Avenged Sevenfold (playing cuts from their two new albums Waking The Fallen and City Of Evil).”
Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 16 at 10am for Deathbats Club members.
Earlier in the year, guitarist Zacky Vengeance teased that Avenged would be celebrating City Of Evil’s 20th anniversary in some capacity next year, as well as 15 years of Nightmare.
“I think those albums are really monumental and fans have grown with them,” he said. “They’ve meant a certain thing to people at a certain place in their life, so I think it’s important that we do something.
“I never want to be a nostalgia act,” he added. “I’ve always wanted to be as proud of whatever we put out today as I was when we put out those albums, but I’m totally cool with celebrating those albums because it was such a great place and time. Plus it’s actually fun to relive and play those songs and get those reactions. To bank our entire career off past successes, we can’t do it, but we’ll definitely do something to celebrate those albums though. For us, the most exciting thing about looking back is recalling where our heads were at when we were young and writing them. Remembering that they’re part of who we are.”
