Green Day side-project The Coverups announce 2025 London show
Surprise! Billie Joe Armstrong will be back in London next month for another special show with his side-project The Coverups.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has teamed up with Familia Skateboard Shop to release a limited-edition 'stupid' top.
For Green Day fans, buying a plain black and white baseball shirt and scribbling 'stupid' with an arrow on it was an absolute must-do after seeing Billie Joe Armstrong's iconic tee from the ’90s.
Now, though, the frontman has saved people from creating their own messy versions by teaming up with the Familia Skateboard Shop in Minneapolis to release a limited-edition version! The tees are $30 and available to pre-order now, with shipping set to begin on May 1.
Hopefully this is just the first release in a long list of activities celebrating the 25th birthday of the band's legendary third album Dookie this year. While Green Day are yet to announce any tribute shows, Billie Joe did hint on Dookie's February 1 anniversary that they might still find a way to honour the record at some point.
“We wanted to think of something special to do but we couldn’t quite come up with anything. Maybe play the record in its entirety at the pyramids in Egypt,” he said. “Or jam it Machu Picchu? Exclusive in Viggiano? Never quite came to fruition. But never despair. 2019 still has time."
Anyway, check out the tee below!
Aside from celebrating all things Dookie, Billie Joe also confirmed in December that he was working on the follow-up to 2016’s awesome Revolution Radio, simply writing in an Instagram Live video, “I’m writing new songs for gd now.”
