Green Day, The Prodigy, Amyl And The Sniffers, Speed and more for Coachella 2025
Green Day, the original Misfits, Amyl And The Sniffers, GEL and more are coming to the California desert in 2025…
The rescheduled Hella Mega Tour – featuring Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer – hasn't been scrapped just yet according to Rivers Cuomo…
With 2021 gigs and events being postponed or cancelled already – including this summer's massive Glastonbury Festival – the status of live music this year is very much up in the air (despite UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock stating that shows could probably return after Easter). But Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo says that, as far as he is aware, the Hella Mega Tour is still on right now.
The huge run – which kicks off in Vienna on June 9 – will (hopefully) see Weezer hit the road with Green Day and Fall Out Boy across the UK, Europe and America throughout the summer, having previously been rescheduled from last year. And, promisingly, Rivers tells NME that, “My manager just told me yesterday that the U.S. promoter is still saying it’s gonna happen. That could change, but I’m not making any other plans for the summer.”

In April last year before the 2020 Hella Mega Tour was pushed back, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz stated, “Two weeks before quarantine began, we got together and rehearsed our set with our staging, our video and our lights because it’s a stadium, so you can’t just do it the week before. Now it’s like we’re circling, waiting to land. Nobody knows anything and it’s hard because we really want to do this tour. It was a hard thing to orchestrate because there are three bands, you have to figure out who’s doing what and everyone had to really want to do it. I know as much as you do about what’s going to happen with it.”
In much more concrete news, Weezer will be releasing their new record OK Human this Friday, and another new album, Van Weezer, in May. So we've got that to hold on to, at least…
