40 years ago this month, AC/DC released their landmark album Highway To Hell, and to mark this occasion Kerrang! are exclusively premiering a rare performance of the band on Dutch television in 1979.
Recorded just weeks before the release of Highway To Hell, AC/DC appeared on TV show Countdown in Holland, performing the title track, Whole Lotta Rosie, Bad Boy Boogie and a handful more.
We're premiering the original television live footage of The Jack (taken from AC/DC's '75 album T.N.T.), which shows a raucous performance from one of the biggest rock bands in the world, right on the cusp of breaking into the mainstream. Sadly, original vocalist Bon Scott would pass away less than a year after Highway To Hell was released, but it was his flair, tenacity and unique vocal style that set them on the road to glory.
Rumours have been flying around of AC/DC's imminent return all year. Earlier this year it was speculated that Brian Johnson would return to the band for a new album, with more stories emerging that they're in the studio "doing something", and lately there are rumblings of a potential world tour.
Could it happen? Will we see AC/DC ride again with Brian Johnson? Stay tuned to Kerrang! to find out first.
