Who are Slipknot’s fans?
We head down to Slipknot’s Here Comes The Pain tour in Manchester to meet the Maggots that had their lives changed forever by nine masked men from the cornfields…
Watch Novem Htoo absolutely blow away the judges on The Voice Myanmar when he belts out Slipknot's Spit It Out.
There isn’t typically much metal on the likes of Pop Idol and The X Factor – for obvious reasons. But recently, various versions of The Voice around the world have been flirting with the genre.
Most notably, a female contestant on the German edition of the show blew judges away when she covered Lamb Of God’s Ghost Walking and she got Randy Blythe’s vocals spot on.
Now, The Voice Myanmar has its own metal star in the making, in the form of Novem Htoo. Competing in the show’s Blind Audition segment – where the judges face away from the contestant and slam a large button that makes their chair swivel round if they’re interested in coaching them – Novem launched into a brutally awesome rendition of Slipknot’s Spit It Out.

All four coaches were so impressed with his vocal prowess that they all slapped the button and spun around, meaning Novem will make it through to the next round of the contest and will have his pick of any of the coaches.
Spit It Out isn’t the easiest song to sing – or at least sing so well – but his performance is all the more impressive because English isn’t Novem’s first language. So hats off to him for pulling it off with such poise.
The fact that it was on the Myanmar edition of the show means, too, that the torrent of F-bombs that Corey Taylor drops at the end of the song were delivered by Novem without being censored whatsoever. That, obviously, is something that would never, ever, ever happen in the UK or the States.
Slipknot’s sixth album We Are Not Your Kind is out now.
