Last month, it was announced that members of Metallica would be forming a "classic rock cover band" named The Wedding Band. Now, that band -- featuring Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Doc Coyle of Bad Wolves, ex-Queens Of The Stone Age and Danzig drummer Joey Castillo, and Ugly Kid Joe vocalist Whitfield Crane -- have played their first performance. You can watch them covering Motörhead's Ace Of Spades and Black Sabbath's War Pigs below.
As you can see from the footage, the band, who performed at Richmond Hill, Ontario's Cosmopolitan Hall, lives up to its name, playing more of a fun, free-for-all jam than any sort of typical concert. It should be noted, however, that as far as wedding bands go, this one is rather poorly dressed. Where are the pastel green suits with the huge collars? Where is the horn player with the tiny fedora? And they don't even perform Shout! While these covers are fun, this crew has a ways to go before they're ready to blast Hava Nagila during a chair dance.
