Frank Turner confirms U.S. dates for Undefeated world tour
Frank Turner will be taking his new album Undefeated across the pond for the first leg of his planned world tour…
The metal-as-hell dark country artist Amigo The Devil shares a stripped-down new video.
There’s a certain kind of dark romance in the world of Austin, Texas-based dark country artist Danny Kiranos’ alter ego Amigo The Devil that can’t be found anywhere else. His songs are largely sung from the point of view of deeply evil people, from famous serial killers to jilted former lovers, in a way that empathizes with the demons that cause people from all walks of life to commit terrible acts and humanizes the secretly heinous characters who walk among us.
Hell and You, however, is the most directly romantic and relatable love song in Amigo’s discography: It’s a song about being so deep in the throes of new love that you’d do just about anything that person asked of you -- whether that be simple things like giving up on nightlife to spend time with them at home or staying in shitty motels together on a road trip, or extremes like considering murder on their behalf -- as long as they agree to love you back.
“I’d rot in hell with you if you just ask me to,” Danny croons painfully in the chorus. “I love the shitty things we do together, live with me in this sin forever.”
Hell and You is off of Amigo The Devil’s new record, Everything Is Fine, which, despite being firmly a dark country record, is metal as hell: It was produced by Ross Robinson (who has worked with everyone from Slipknot to Korn to At The Drive-In) and features Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilk on drums. This new video for the track, however, is a stripped-down version -- just Danny sitting alone with his banjo in a grotto by a stream in Texas -- which showcases the delicate side of the singer’s abilities and brings a sweeter perspective to the lyrics.
We say you take the shot, see this chance, feel the fire and let him have this dance with you.
