Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett fell over onstage last night thanks to a wet wah wah
Last night Metallica headlined the San Siro Ippodromo stadium in Milan as part of their WorldWired tour and it was pouring down with rain. Everything was drenched, but the band carried on regardless, because you can't let some H2O kill the metal.
Not even a soaking wah wah pedal was going to stop Kirk Hammett ripping through a solo.
The Metallica guitarist slipped on his pedal during posted the footage of his tumble on Instagram, ending up on his back, but he kept playing with a smile on his face.
Finding the funny side, Kirk posted the footage of his tumble on Instagram with the message: "Ummm – I slipped on my wet wah pedal.
"It rained so much I felt like I was playing guitar in the shower."
Metallica are currently in the early stages of their European WorldWired stadium tour, which started in Lisbon, Portugal, last week. The band have been playing an epic, career-spanning 18-song setlist throughout the tour so far, alternating two tracks from St. Anger (the title-track and Frantic) from show to show.
