twenty one pilots frontman Tyler Joseph has issued an apology on Twitter after joking about using his "platforms".
The musician posted a couple of photos of himself wearing platform shoes with the caption, "You guys keep asking me to use my platforms. Feels good to dust these bad boys off." However, fans immediately responded that Tyler was being "insensitive" and "tone deaf" for joking about not using his voice and influence to talk about important global topics.

A couple of hours later, he followed up on the original pics clarifying that he wasn't making light of the huge issues people are facing right now: "My tweet wasn’t suppose to be about human rights. So in case you are wondering where I stand: Black Lives Matter.
"I just wanted to take a moment to raise awareness about something else that has meant a lot to me for a long time. But now I see there is no room for that right now.
"I'm truly sorry if it hurt anyone."
Between the two threads, Tyler also shared a link to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention, addressing National Suicide Prevention Awareness Week starting on September 6.
"I respect all the warriors out there fighting for different causes," he said. "There is honor in it, purpose, and it can make our world better. I just want to remind you what I’m fighting for: your mental health is more important today than it ever has been. You’re not alone."
