Metallica’s incredible M72 world tour has seen the metal heroes play to quite literally hundreds of thousands of fans this year… but this time last week, they performed to an all-new listener: a dog called Storm.
The band have shared the absolutely wonderful story about their new “four-legged fan”, who seemingly escaped from her home in Los Angeles, adjacent to Inglewood’s colossal SoFi Stadium where ’Tallica were performing on August 25 and 27. Clearly having good taste, Storm headed into their show on the second night of the LA stint and stayed for the whole 16-song set – which opened with Whiplash and finished with Enter Sandman.
Explaining the adorable situation, Metallica took to social media to share a photo of the very content-looking Storm, writing: “You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA! Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to SoFi Stadium and made her way to the gig all by herself.
“After a full night taking in the show with her #MetallicaFamily, Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day.”
Then, because they couldn’t resist, they added: “She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including Barx Æterna, Master Of Puppies and The Mailman That Never Comes. And in case you were wondering, no. You definitely shouldn’t bring your furry friends to the #M72 World Tour. But this dog sure did have her day…”
Dogs are just the greatest.
