It's happening, people! Metallica are back together at their headquarters – and they've been jamming iconic Ride The Lightning single Creeping Death.

Watch Metallica Rehearse Creeping Death In Lockdown

We already know that the members of Metallica have been in touch remotely throughout lockdown, with Lars Ulrich revealing back in June that they were "sending ideas to each other via email and via Zoom and [trying to] make music in these unusual situations". But now they are happily back together in the same room, jamming and rehearsing at their headquarters.

Uploading a couple of sneaky teaser videos to their Instagram stories, the band – completed by a cowboy hat-wearing James Hetfield, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Rob Trujillo – can be seen running through Ride The Lightning's iconic single Creeping Death. And though it's only a short look at the performance (as is the way with Instagram stories), it'll be sure to get the adrenaline pumping nevertheless.

Thankfully the videos have also been captured by fans on YouTube, so once these stories disappear after 24 hours, you can still watch them below.

Of course, back in April, Lars admitted that the longer lockdown goes on, the more likely it is that Metallica will begin work on a new album – the follow-up to 2016’s excellent Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. Is it possible that they might also be rehearsing new material at this jam session, then? Hmm…

"Will there be a Metallica quarantine record?" Lars pondered. "I can’t tell you, because, again, I don’t know how long the quarantine will last. But if you and I and the rest of the world are sitting here six months from now or a year from now, I’d say there’s a very good chance."
