Album review: Ocean Grove – ODDWORLD
Melbourne party-starters Ocean Grove get weird in both good ways and bad on album number four…
Lindemann's new video for Ich Weiß Es Nich was created using Generative Adversarial Networks and it's truly bizarre
Lindemann have dropped a video for their new track Ich Weiß Es Nich, which has been created using artificial intelligence.
Lindemann (the project of Rammstein's Till Lindemann and Pain's Peter Tägtgren) are releasing their new album F&M on November 22 via Spinefarm Records.
According to the YouTube description, the new video has been generated through GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), which are "AI architectures capable of generating imagery.
"By analysing thousands of pictures GANs learn image features in a similar way to humans, generalizing visual patterns into conceptual understanding."
The resulting monochrome video begins with snails and butterflies before morphing into something much more trippy when the pounding industrial kicks in. Hundreds of faces all morph into each other, creating something hypnotic and also a little nauseating – like a Hollywood visual representation of taking acid. There are also what look like dodgy deepfakes of horror movies involving Till and Peter.
Check out the AI video for yourself below.
Ich Weiß Es Nich is the second track to be released from Lindemann's upcoming album, following the hallucinogenic video for Steh Auf.
Till will be touring the stadiums of Europe with Rammstein next summer at the dates below. Get your tickets now.
