If you've never been, the Iowa State Fair is an event that should be added to your bucket list. It's huge, there's always something insane carved out of butter on display, and every food item you could ever imagine has been deep-fried for your enjoyment. There are also bands that play, who are generally pretty great...but one assumes there'll never be another show like last night's, where Slipknot headlined the Iowa State Fair the day after releasing their long-awaited new album, We Are Not Your Kind. As you'll see, the angle from which this footage is shot doesn't show exactly how many people turned up for Slipknot's ultimate hometown show -- but given the vast scale of the stage, one assumes it was a massive event. The band play in their recently-revealed white outfits, making them glow onstage. More than anything, though, there's a sense of catharsis in these performances, as though now that the album is out, Slipknot can truly go balls to the wall.
