Nickelback Unleash Heavy Cover Of The Devil Went Down To Georgia

To mark the passing of American singer-songwriter Charlie Daniels on July 6, 2020, Nickelback have returned with a cover of the 1979 classic The Devil Went Down To Georgia – but it's just not any old rendition, it's a genuinely heavy effort from the Canadian rockers.

"A few years ago we recorded a take of The Devil Went Down To Georgia during a studio session with our good friend Dave Martone," the band say.

"It was a fun song to tackle and brought back so many good memories for us all. When Charlie Daniels passed last month, the world lost a music icon. We hope our version will bring half as much joy as his did for us and so many others."

And Nickelback aren't the only band who have covered The Devil Went Down To Georgia recently; last month, Korn and Yelawolf joined forces and unveiled their own spin on the song. Yet, surprisingly, Nickelback's rendition has even more shredding…
