Amen frontman Casey Chaos has died
His label and former bandmates announced the news earlier today
Find out who was victorious!
We waited a whole year for it, but now our 35th birthday / awards are sadly over. Sob!
Three generations of rockstars – everyone from Iron Maiden, to Deftones, to blink-182, to A Day To Remember – came, drank, and got merry. Perhaps some a little too merry. Most importantly, some of those rockstars were crowned 2016 Kerrang! Award winners, and stumbled up to the stage to pick up their K!-shaped trophies, while others lost out, and spent the evening crying into their pizza. There, there, guys.
“I’m just a year older than Kerrang! And every day my knees hurt and I’m out of breath putting my socks on,” says Kerrang! Editor James McMahon. “But what the night’s mayhem confirmed to me, is that even three and a half decades into it’s existence, Kerrang! is as fit and lithe as it’s ever been. No other brand could unite stars old and new like Kerrang!. Bound by booze, yes, but by a shared spirit and passion for rock ‘n’ roll too. Because the night was, from start to finish, one of those nights that sear themselves into your memory – where fans, bands, mag, friends old and new, became one mass of love for a style of music a group of people were so obsessed with 35 years ago they started a magazine, just because one didn’t exist to cover it. By fans, for fans. Thirty five years young. Last night was the best birthday party ever.”
Now, we’ve got an epic clean-up job to undertake before we scoot off to Download Festival (once we’ve figured out who threw up on our suitcases…) So while we do that, why don’t you guys take a look at the winners…
