This week has been a bit of a bummer for Green Day fans following the postponement of several dates on the European leg of this summer's Hella Mega Tour, but frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has lifted everyone's spirits with another instalment of his No Fun Mondays.
His new cover comes courtesy of Starjets' War Stories, and follows on from last week's rendition of That Thing You Do!, in tribute to Fountains Of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger.

Previously, Billie Joe has also tackled The Avengers’ Corpus Christi, The Bangles’ Manic Monday, Tommy James and the Shondells’ I Think We’re Alone Now and Johnny Thunders’ You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory, so he's building up quite the collection of lockdown covers now.
"This is it, this is it…" Billie Joe wrote, unveiling his new Starjets cover, "this is this week's No Fun Mondays: War Stories by Starjets."

On top of recording these covers for No Fun Mondays, Billie Joe has been working on new music, exclusively telling Kerrang! that he’s already written six new songs, and hopes to get together in the studio with bassist Mike Dirnt, drummer Tré Cool and Father Of All… producer Butch Walker when all of this is over.
“I’ve been writing a lot of music, and I had all these melodies in my head, so I wrote, like, six songs since all of this has been going on,” he revealed. “I don’t know when I can get together with Mike and Tré, but I told them to make sure that they’re quarantined for now, and then I hope down the road we can get back in the studio with Butch Walker.”
