The BRIT Awards have announced that next
year’s ceremony will take place on February 11.
For the first time ever in its 30
years, the mammoth UK music awards show will be happening on a Saturday night, and it’ll
be broadcast for all to watch via ITV and ITVX.
Damian Christian (Managing Director
and President of Promotions at Atlantic Records), who is taking over as Chair of the
BRIT Committee for 2023, says: “The BRITs is the biggest night of the year for the UK music
industry, and we want as many eyes on it as possible as we showcase the best
and most diverse British talent.
“Moving the show to a Saturday will
breathe new life into the iconic ceremony, while also introducing a new and
more engaged audience.”
At the 2022 BRITs, Bring Me The Horizon and Ed Sheeran got everyone talking with their live collab of Bad Habits for the first time. Meanwhile, rapper Dave – fresh from picking up the BRIT for Best Hip Hop / Grime / Rap Act – closed the ceremony with a jaw-dropping performance and Rammstein-esque flamethrower guitar.
