It’s been a looooong while now since we’ve had any new music from The All-American Rejects, but the band are (sort of) rectifying that today with a fun new cover.

Tyson Ritter and co. have just unveiled a rendition of Harvey Danger’s Flagpole Sitta – which is famously the theme tune for Peep Show. But the band haven’t said if they’re fans of the iconic British sitcom, or they just really like the song…

“We’ve always felt that if an idea survives a hangover, then it’s probably a good one,” AAR say of the cover. “Flagpole Sitta was such an idea, born of a late-night, post-show, adrenaline-fuelled drive.

“We recorded it because we wanted to see how it would fall out of us on the floor – either like a hot bag of shit, or a vibe. It was also a good excuse to see if the four of us could stand each other for a week in the studio after seven years of silence. Turns out it was alright.”

We’ll call that a success, then. But is there even more new music to come? Well… they tease that, “As for what’s coming next, we will leave that up to the divine feminine. If she wants it, she’ll get it.”
