Rock supergroup Temple of the Dog have announced details of their first ever tour
This is going to be emotional. Yesterday (July 20), Temple Of The Dog, the Seattle supergroup featuring Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready, plus drummer Matt Cameron (who, somewhat incredibly, plays drums with both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam) has reunited. Not only that, but they’re officially heading out on tour in November for the first time ever since forming in 1990 as a tribute to Andrew Wood, the charismatic singer of Mother Love Bone who died tragically of an overdose the same year. Notably, Andy Wood was Chris Cornell’s room mate and also fellow Mother Love Bone bandmate to Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard.
News of the band’s tour – taking in Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle – comes on the back of the band announcing they will be reissuing their classic self-titled – and only – album on September 30 via UMe. The 25th anniversary reissue will feature a new mix by longtime Pearl Jam/Soundgarden collaborator Brendan O’Brien, and will be be available in four different versions.
