Slipknot Release New Song Unsainted

It's finally here! Slipknot have released the first single from their upcoming sixth album We Are Not Your Kind.

The track, Unsainted, is available to stream now and comes with a brand new video directed by Clown himself.

“These days the art we are making comes with the highest reward, because it’s taken the most time,” says Clown of the new album. “Almost four years to create this emotion and temperature, and the reward now is nothing short of salvation.”

“This is the most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together," adds guitarist Jim Root. "One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full-length albums – not just songs. While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.”

Unsainted is the first new music from Slipknot since last year's surprise single All Out Life, which isn't a part of their upcoming album.

We Are Not Your Kind will be released on August 9 through Roadrunner Records.

Slipknot are headlining Download festival in the UK on June 15 – get your tickets now. They are also livestreaming their headline set at Rock Am Ring festival in Germany on June 9.

Slipknot head out across North America this summer with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth for the Knotfest Roadshow, kicking off at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA on July 26 and ending at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX on September 8.
