Who are Slipknot’s fans?
We head down to Slipknot’s Here Comes The Pain tour in Manchester to meet the Maggots that had their lives changed forever by nine masked men from the cornfields…
This month's shows in Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and The Philippines are off – though Slipknot have said Knotfest will return to Asia "very soon".
The ever-growing list of bands cancelling tours because of coronavirus is getting even bigger, with Slipknot the latest group to pull out of five shows in Asia this month due to the global outbreak of COVID-19.
The band were set to bring their own Knotfest to Tokyo for two nights on March 20-21, as well as performing as Singapore Rock Fest, Hammersonic Festival in Indonesia, and Amoranto Stadium in The Philippines.
“In light of global health concerns, Slipknot have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan," the Iowa titans say in a statement.
“While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and wellbeing of the band’s fans always comes first. Furthermore in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally affected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made.
“Slipknot and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon, and at such time that everyone can be ensured of the best experience possible.”
The affected dates are as follows:
March
20 Tokyo, Japan – Knotfest
21 Tokyo, Japan – Knotfest
24 Singapore – Singapore Rock Fest
27 Jakarta, Indonesia – Hammersonic Festival
29 Manila, Philippines – Amoranto Stadium
