With Slipknot going big on their debut album’s 25-year birthday celebrations throughout 2024 (including touring the U.S. this summer with Knocked Loose, and playing it in the UK and Europe at the end of the year), the band have just given Surfacing the music video treatment.
Seemingly from out of nowhere, the Iowa gang have uploaded an awesome high-definition version of a performance of Surfacing from Ozzfest – the footage of which is originally taken from their 1999 ‘video album’ Welcome To Our Neighborhood.
“This song is your new national fucking anthem!” yells Corey Taylor as it begins, before he and his bandmates – including the late Joey Jordison and Paul Gray, plus former members Craig Jones and Chris Fehn – rage through what is now a beloved setlist staple.
Sharing the video on social media, Slipknot simply write: “Your new national anthem. The official video for Surfacing is now available on our @YouTube channel.”
