Slipknot Announce Rescheduled Knotfest Japan For 2021

Following the postponement of their Asia tour last month due to coronavirus, Slipknot have now announced the rescheduled dates and line-up for Knotfest Japan.

The band will be bringing their epic touring festival to Asia in January 2021, headlining both dates of the two-night event.

The ’Knot will also be joined on the line-up by the likes of Korn, Marilyn Manson, Crossfaith and Suicide Silence on the first date, January 10, and MAN WITH A MISSION, Anthrax, BABYMETAL and more on January 11.

As stated on KnotfestJapan.com, "For the festival performance, we will cancel only Trivium which can not appear due to the schedule, and there is no change in other artist line-up. Additional artists will be announced at a later date."

Regarding the change in dates, Knotfest Japan also clarify: "The Knotfest Japan 2020 show dates originally scheduled for March 20, 2020 has been postponed to January 11, 2021, and March 21, 2020 has been postponed to January 10 (Sun) 2021. Note the original order of the Day 1 Roadshow date and Day 2 Festival date has changed so please make sure you are attending the correct show dates."

In other Slipknot news, it was recently announced that frontman Corey Taylor is working on a new project with his wife, Alicia. While it wasn't revealed what exactly this endeavour might be, between Corey's songwriting, singing, acting and writing talents, and Alicia's work with fire-breathing group Cherry Bombs, it feels as though the possibilities are pretty endless for the duo.

Corey also has a solo album on the way, telling Kerrang! last year, “I’ve got about 26 songs written for it. It’s going to be the best ’90s album ever. That’s the only way I can really describe it. Some of it is a reflection of being sick and tired of this nutless rock’n’roll I’ve seen lately that is real soft. I like my rock’n’roll to kick me in the fucking nuts. That’s just me, though, I’m a fucking dick!

“Other than that, I wrote a script for a horror movie that I’m really stoked about. And I just broke the skin on book five, so I’m working on that as well. I’ve got a lot of things going on, but I’m also making sure there’s plenty of time for my family, my marriage and home. God knows, you never know how much time you’re gonna get there.”
