Fresh from blowing everyone’s minds last week with the
announcement of their surprise shows at Riot Fest and Louder Than Life, Slayer
have just confirmed one final U.S. festival date for the year.
The thrash legends will head to Sacramento in October to top at
the bill at Aftershock, joining fellow headliners Slipknot, Iron Maiden and
Mötley Crüe. “There’s been a lot of excited fans out there about our playing a
couple of festival dates,” say Slayer, “so it’s great to be able to add this
last one.”
Slayer will help kick off the mega California fest on Thursday,
October 10, with Aftershock promising its “biggest” line-up yet, consisting of
over 130 bands across five stages. Some of those include the aforementioned
headliners, plus Evanescence, Rise Against, Halestorm, Mastodon, Architects,
Cypress Hill and Tom Morello.
“Get ready Sacramento…” announces Danny Wimmer of DWP. “This is
the biggest Aftershock line-up we’ve ever curated, and the largest rock and
metal festival ever put together in California. See you in October… unless I
see you in May.”
“We couldn’t be more excited that Sacramento has become
synonymous with the largest rock festival on the West Coast,” adds Visit
Sacramento President and CEO Mike Testa. “The city is ready to welcome fans for
four days packed with more than 130 bands and unforgettable live music
experiences.”
