Fred Durst continues to do the most fun stuff in 2024: from a truly amazing Download sub-headline set and a big North American tour with Limp Bizkit, to teaming up with everyone from Ed Sheeran to HARDY. And now, he’s in a new A24 film!

And the first look at the movie – entitled Y2K – has arrived, with a couple of extremely brief Fred cameos in it. The nu-metal titan joins the likes of Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison and Alicia Silverstone in the film, which is directed by Kyle Mooney and will hit cinemas on December 6.

Unsurprisingly, given its name, Y2K is set on January 31, 1999 – and of course, back then in real life, Bizkit were very much riding high from the release of their second album Significant Other that summer. In A24’s version of Y2K, though, things aren’t quite as successful for those involved, with a New Year’s Eve celebration going very wrong thanks to some deadly technology after the clock strikes 12…
