UK hardcore crew Cutting Teeth continue to expand their vision on second EP, Fracture / Decompose…
Having shared stages with the likes of Loathe, Lotus Eater and Bleed From Within, Yorkshire’s Cutting Teeth have been making a name for themselves in the British underground. Earning themselves a solid reputation thanks in no small part to their ferocious live show, this latest six-track offering is further argument that they need your attention, for this is a solid collection that showcases all the strengths of an exciting young band. With a sound rooted in riffy hardcore, you can often hear their influences shining through their songs, but never to the extent that it undermines the legitimacy of what they’re doing. Add to that every track having a distinct personality, and it makes for 21 breathless minutes. Whether they’re lost in the relentless agitation of Misanthropy, mired in the Converge-esque tragic dirge of A Reason To Give, or firing on all cylinders as on the anthemic Diathesis, Cutting Teeth give it their all, and never miss their target.
Verdict: 3/5
