The Italian heavyweights drop their new album, 8, on September 22 – and this advance taste of it is wickedly devastating.

Premiere: Listen To Doom Titans Ufomammut’s Crushing New Track, Babel

Italian doom crew Ufomammut are back with an epic, all-consuming boom on September 22, when their new album, 8, comes out via Neurot Recordings. Funnily enough, it’s the trio’s eighth album. Who knew, huh?

Ahead of the long-player’s emergence, Kerrang! is pleased indeed to premiere Babel, the opening track of 8. Of the song – check it out above, and turn it up – the band says:

“Babel is the opening track of the new album and it is the song that bring us from our previous record, Ecate, through to the new album, 8. The track is based on Babel as Babylon, a biblical myth that explains why we all speak different languages. After the great flood a united humanity speaking a single language reunite in Babylon and they built a tower to reach heaven. God, as usual, scattered all the people around the world giving them different languages... The tower of Babel represents the perfection that goes against God. And that's why the title of our new album resounds in 100 different ways.”
